We started the coverage of their wedding with the Sangeet on Friday night at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point. As the guests were arriving, the children got a private showing of an area where you can pet sea life. You’ll see below the kids checking out a sea cucumber and in a dome that puts them “inside” an aquarium. Summit Catering provided the decor and delicious food. Later, the family of the bride and groom entertained the guests throughout the evening with traditional song and dance. What a pleasure it is to work at such a unique venue so close to the water! When we arrived to Neha’s room Saturday at Laguna Cliffs Marriott, she was getting her hair and makeup done by the very talented Ami Desai of Makeup By Ami. Neha looked absolutely stunning as one can see in the images below. Neha and Gaurav chose to have a first look before the Barat, which worked out very well, since we had the public park to ourselves that day. This allowed us to capture some very fun moments with them and the bridal party. After an exciting Barat, the grooms side proceeded to the Mandap for the ceremony. With the artistic eye of Smita of Ethnic Essence, every element was colorful, elegant and happy. The mandap was a work of art, with stylized modern flower motifs made up of carnations under a canopy of gathered sheer fabric. The ballroom looked fantastic, in colors of violet, eggplant, lime and gold, complete with an extensive dessert bar and lounging cabanas. We also loved how Smita created the sweetheart table, which consisted of clear acrylic table and chairs adorned with roses, calla lilies, hydrangeas and tulips. The guests dined on authentic Indian cuisine and danced the night away, enjoying every minute. We wish Neha and Gauarav many happy years together!
Neha with all her childhood friends, chilling out before showtime.
Gorgeous, just gorgeous.
Smita showed me the sketch of this idea for the sweetheart table and her team created it perfectly.
These kids certainly knew how to have a good time!
